Thumbs Down!

It's finale, I'm too impatient and I have lost the feel for PaperClay. I love Apoxie Sculpt and will be placing an order today.
Even though I'm not please with these two pumpkins, I think after some paint they will be ok. The larger one will nestle inside the box and the small one will sit where it is and will be attached to the lid.
Sooo I guess I can be painting the box while the pumpkins continue to DRY!

If it is the drying time that has got you down with the paperclay run over to Chicken Lips blog:

He just started using a dehumidifier at the recommendation of one of his friends and says it is great! ALSO, might I recommend the Apoxy CLAY as opposed to the SCULPT. I absolutely love it and have used both products. The clay is my Fav hands down. I started with Magic Sculp (yep, that's how the spell it) years ago... :o)

I adore your Gourd work! So much personality and color!

Awww thanks Denise, I too use to use Magic Sculp and then went to the Apoxie. I have tried the Apoxie Clay and it's ok but I am a true Apoxie Sculpt user.
The problem with paper clay and gourds is having to keep the gourd wet which causes longer drying time and cracking.
I saw David's new drying set up. I had told him to try a fan but the dehumidifier is ingenues!
All the wonderful tricks of the trade!

I've been thinking about Apoxie and Magic Sculpt a lot lately. If I used one of those with Paverpol I could make weather resistant outdoor figures for my pond. Like spirits and water witches. I'm getting tempted...

Love your work, Gourdie!!

You could indeed make outdoor pieces with the Apoxie. I haven't tried the Paverpol yet, but I want too!
Thanks Lisa!

Gourdie - I am so sad to hear about about the problems you you've been having healthwise - I sure do hope you are feeling better soon.
As for the clay problems - regardless of what type of clay you use, I still think your creations are awesome and I can't wait to see them finished - love the use of the warty gourd!
Take it easy girl ;)
